Microblading is an advanced technique of cosmetic tattooing that is done by a process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin with a row of micro sterile, disposable needles that form a blade shape which will produce the appearance of hair where there isn't any, or add more to enhance and create fullness where hair already exists. This is with a manual hand tool, not a machine.
After extensive research on different blades and pigments, I decided to exclusively use Tina Davies products. I use Zensa as a numbing agent before the skin is broken and Blue Gel Anesthetic as a numbing agent after the skin is broken. I then send you home with dial soap and aquafore as aftercare for the next seven days.
I follow a wet healing method ( i’ll give you a print out of detailed instructions at your appointment) this involves you washing your brows twice daily and applying a thin layer of aquafore for a week after your appointment. The instructions are also posted under “aftercare” in my “aftercare” section on this webpage. A wet heal keeps your brows moisturized and keeps pigment from flaking off. Many clients have zero flaking whatsoever and can continue on with their day to day lives without being self continuous of dry flaky skin on their face. View more details on aftercare
You can expect your brows to get slightly darker 3 days after your procedure. this is due to the pigment oxidizing and the mild scabbing behind the Blading. From there, things will continue to look more and more natural. Brows will settle in with the final result about seven days after initial appointment.
Are there restrictions?
Yes, please consider the following before scheduling your appointment
- Epilepsy
- Diabetes
- Chemotherapy
- If you currently ill (cold, flu, ect)
- Pregnant or Breast Feeding
- Autoimmune Diseases
- Major Heart Problem
- Viral Infections / Disease
- Accutne in the past year
- Psoriasis, Rash or Sunburn on/or treated area
- Allergy to Lidocaine, Tetracaine or Epinephrine
How long does it last?
Results vary based on your skins natural turn over, how well you follow the aftercare instructions and how often the brows are exposed to natural sunlight or tanning. Typically your brows should stay in tact for a year. Its crucial to keep up with yearly touch ups to keep the pigment and shape fresh. I recommend you come in for a yearly touch up anywhere fro 9-14 months after initial appointment.
Does it hurt?
This question is a hard one to answer as every persons pain tolerance is different . As I stated in The products section, I use a numbing agent prior to the blading. I am legally allowed to carry 5% lidocaine. If you are extra worried about the pain, id suggest contacting your physician or dermatologist as they are able to prescribe 30% lidocaine. After the skin is broken, I apply a different numbing cream to keep you as comfortable as possible throughout the entirety of the procedure.
